Rate: £7.55 - £10 per hour

Contract Type: Apprenticeship

Position Type: Full Time

Hours: 35 hours per week

Job Summary

T emporary for 12 months.

We may conduct our interviews in person or using Microsoft Teams for video calling. All you need is a device with a camera and access to the internet. We will provide guidance and instructions on how to use this method if your interview is being held virtually.

As part of North Ayrshire Council’s Modern Apprentice Recruitment Process if, following interview, you are chosen as a Preferred Candidate, you must complete a 1-week pre-employment Course with one of our Employability Partners, before being issued with a Conditional Offer of Employment.

The qualification to be achieved on completion of the Modern Apprenticeship is SCQF7.

Modern Apprenticeship posts are open to all North Ayrshire Residents aged 16-19yrs old at commencement of employment

We’re offering a fantastic opportunity for a motivated young person aged 16 – 19 to join our team as an Apprentice in a caring and supportive environment. You’ll gain hands-on experience while working towards a nationally recognised qualification in Health and Social Care, supported by a dedicated mentor and SVQ Assessor. No previous experience required – just the right attitude! This role is ideal for school or college leavers looking to start a meaningful and rewarding career. We’re looking for someone with a genuine interest in helping others, who has good communication and teamwork skills. PVG (Adults)

This post is considered Regulated Work with Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act, 2007. Therefore, it is an offence to apply if you are barred from working with protected adults

Please note if you are the successful candidate your name and email address will be entered into the Disclosure Scotland PVG system to generate your PVG form which will be issued to your email with an enclosed link to complete.

Our Workstyles

As an employer of choice, North Ayrshire Council has identified four different Workstyles. Each post in the council has been allocated one of these styles:

Agile – 100% of time spent working agile (flexibly) and interacting with others. Able to work at home, office or multiple locations. May be required to attend office on set days/rota basis as the role requires.
