Main duties of the job
This role provides support to patients, clinicians, and services within Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust, and to primary care colleagues to improve the safe and effective use of medicines.
You will be expected to help manage, maintain, and develop the Medicines Resource Centre (MRC) to ensure the provision of a high quality, patient focused, evaluated and unbiased, evidence based pharmaceutical information and advisory service.
You will:
1. Develop, train, and supervise colleagues working within the MRC.
2. Support MRC workstreams with a focus on Medicines Information and other workstreams including Formulary and Governance as required.
3. Actively contribute to the development, monitoring and integration of written guidelines, policies and patient group directions (PGDs).
4. Provide clinical pharmacy services at a department and ward level, according to rotas.

Education, Qualification & Training
Essential criteria
5. Registered pharmacist with the GPhC, General Pharmaceutical Council
6. Experience of working as a pharmacist within primary or secondary care.
7. Completed or undertaking a post- graduate diploma in pharmacy practice or recognised equivalent
Desirable criteria
8. Experience of working within a hospital medicines information (MI) service.
Skills, abilities and knowledge
Essential criteria
9. Clear and concise verbal and written communication
10. Able to recognise limits of own competencies and to refer and seek advice from colleagues.
11. Prepared to attend any training sessions necessary for personal and service development
Desirable criteria
12. Knowledge of MI resources and general therapeutics.

13. Experience of working as a pharmacist within primary or secondary care.
