Instrumentation Engineer Location: Middlewich Salary: £26,000- £28,000 depending on experience Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8:00am- 4:30pm Protea Ltd is a leader in gas analysis using spectroscopic techniques in industrial and research applications. Our technologies include Mid-IR FTIR, laser and mass spectrometry. We are currently seeking to recruit an Instrumentation Engineer to join our growing team based in Cheshire. Reporting to the analyser build manager, the primary function of the role is the mechanical and electrical manufacture of Protea’s industrial gas analysers and systems. The successful candidate will support the full production process, ensuring a high standard of quality and that the customer orders are delivered on time. Working in an efficient and timely manner, in line with the business objectives of the Company, this role will play an important part in the increase of the manufacturing capacity for our analytical systems to the UK and overseas. With further experience, and in line with the Company’s growth strategy as the workload increases, the successful applicant could see greater emphasis focussing on the management of the entire manufacturing processes of at least one product line. The successful candidate will: Be from an electrical/mechanical background and possess proven experience in electrical assembly, such as wiring, cable termination, soldering Benefit from a background in instrumentation and ideally, have some experience of gas analysis instrumentation and gas/pneumatic pipework Possess the ability to work from electrical drawings and follow design procedures Validate the product in line with the standard test procedures, to include calibration of temperature, pressure, flow and to carry out simple gas analysis steps Be able to diagnose and solves faults during the build and test phase of production Ensure manufacturing build, inspection and test times are met Inspect and test components for defects Check and complete all paperwork associated with the manufacturing process Possess a versatile skill base and willingness to learn, with the capability to apply these skills across a range of tasks Contribute to product and process improvement as part of the Company’s Quality System Be fully conversant with all equipment, tools and measuring instruments associated with the manufacturing cycle Protea is an equal opportunities employer; we celebrate diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees.
