Executive Summary: The role is Band 6 Sister / Charge Nurse on Ward 28 Frailty at Royal Shrewsbury Hospital. This position is responsible for leading the ward team, delivering high‑quality care to frail elderly patients, and ensuring optimal use of resources.
Responsibilities
* Function as a competent clinical practitioner within the designated clinical area, delivering direct patient care while coordinating and supporting staff.
* Ensure the delivery of clinical activities during the duty span, maintaining high standards and patient safety.
* Utilise resources efficiently to provide optimum quality care to the client group.
* Deputise for the ward/department manager during absence, supervising staff and upholding evidence‑based practice across the clinical area.
* Work flexibly to meet the evolving needs of the service.
Ward Information
Ward 28 is a 33‑bedded frailty ward, with a 5‑bedded FAU dedicated to older adults with multiple conditions. The ward team includes a Ward Manager, Ward Sisters, Registered Nurses, Nurse Associates, Health Care Assistants, Ward Clerk, and Housekeeper.
