We are looking for an experienced Risk Management professional to join a well-regarded team responsible for providing a comprehensive, efficient and effective Audit and Risk Management service across the council. You will play a critical role in helping the council achieve its objectives by innovating in the application of Risk Management tools and techniques and ensuring the Risk Management strategy is aligned to support delivery of the council’s newly refreshed Programme of Work and The Plan for North Lanarkshire. Working a hybrid model of home and office-based within Civic Centre, Motherwell, you will be a confident, enthusiastic, and self-motivated team player with a positive disposition and a drive for continual improvement. A creative thinker, you should have a professional approach to dealing with colleagues at all levels, participating in the provision and development of a quality Risk Management service across the council. Educated to HND/SVQ4/degree level or equivalent, you should have significant risk management experience gained in a large public or private sector organisation with experience of delivering risk management initiatives, providing advice and guidance on risk management, development and monitoring of risk registers and development of management information, e.g. cost of risk/risk trends. IRM membership and a Risk Management qualification are desirable. The job description provides an overview of the generic duties required and the specific tasks that would be undertaken.
