An exciting opportunity has arisen for a MCA DoLS (Mental Capacity Act and Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards) Quality Assurance Officer to work in the Safeguarding service of Adult Care and Integration.
The Role
As the MCA DoLS Quality Assurance Officer, you will be responsible for:
* Management of the business-critical administrative support function;
* The receipt, scrutiny, recording and processing of requests for authorisation;
* Assess the quality of information received into the DoLS team from managing authorities and assessors and be confident in challenging staff across multi organisational boundaries in order to attain the desired standard;
* The recording and monitoring of conditions placed on a standard authorisation;
* Monitoring of relevant persons representatives to ensure they are carrying out their duties;
* Providing data for the legal monitoring meetings, where s21A appeals and potential appeals are kept under review;
* Providing expert advice to Managing Authorities (care homes and hospitals) and assessors on legal duties and best practices;
* Developing quality frameworks to audit practice, identifying trends, and producing performance reports for senior management or government bodies.
