Responsibilities
* Act as key point of contact for data protection queries across Catch22, providing practical advice and resolving queries independently, escalating to the DPO when appropriate.
* Manage the Data Protection Team mailbox, triage and respond to queries, prioritise workload, and resolve issues, escalating high‑risk or complex matters to the DPO.
* Manage data protection incidents end to end, assess risk to individuals, identify appropriate actions, and elevate high‑risk incidents to the DPO.
* Maintain the Data Subject Rights log, record, monitor and progress requests to completion within statutory deadlines, escalating or seeking advice on complex or high‑risk cases.
* Coordinate and manage data subject rights requests in line with organisational processes, applying judgment to non‑routine and complex cases, assess deadline extensions under UK GDPR, and identify necessary escalations.
* Manage and prioritise Subject Access Requests end to end, including acknowledgement, identity verification, stakeholder engagement, information gathering, secure handling, and support compliant disclosure.
* Advise stakeholders on DPIAs, support completion before submission to the DPO for review.
* Prioritise workload to meet statutory and organisational deadlines, proactively identify risks and recommend action to the DPO.
* Provide clear, practical advice and guidance on data protection requirements to support consistent understanding and best practice across the organisation.
* Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of data protection processes, procedures, and the management system.
* Advise on the development and review of service‑specific privacy notices to ensure accuracy, transparency and compliance with legislation.
* Identify and prioritise emerging data protection risks or issues and support the DPO in rectification.
Qualifications
* Awareness of regulatory expectations and guidance (e.g., ICO guidelines).
* Aware of UK Data Protection legislation.
* Non‑judgmental attitude aligned with Catch22’s mission.
* Experience managing or supporting Subject Access Requests.
* Experienced in working independently, managing priorities, and meeting deadlines.
* Strong attention to detail and ability to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately.
* Ability to build effective working relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
* Open to learning and expanding knowledge in the UK Data Protection sector.
Salary and Working Conditions
Salary: £27,500 to £30,000 (dependent on experience). Hours of work: Full time, 37 hours per week. Grade: MPA – Coordinator. Contract: Permanent. Flexibility: Remote working.
