About Us
Healthworks is a national award-winning charity working with disadvantaged local communities to tackle health inequalities and improve health and wellbeing through social prescribing. Based in Newcastle and operating across the region for over 29 years, our patron is Professor Michael Marmot. Our work has been recognized by a King’s Fund/GSK award for improving physical and mental health across the North East of England.
We collaborate with NHS, Local Authority, and community sectors to develop cost-effective, sustainable health solutions for various conditions affecting quality of life.
The Role
You will:
* Carry out repair/installation jobs such as joinery, equipment assembly, and basic plumbing.
* Identify and report higher-level repair needs, e.g., plant room equipment faults, specialist plumbing, and electrical work.
* Respond to ad hoc issues related to facilities, hygiene, and maintenance.
* Conduct regular health and safety checks according to legislation and organizational schedules, e.g., water safety, emergency lighting, fire alarm testing, PAT testing.
* Perform interior and exterior decoration.
* Assist with office moves.
* Support maintenance of the Lemington community garden.
* Ensure the security of the buildings and their users.
* Implement practical solutions to maintain high health and safety standards.
