Job description: Position: Cleaner
Hours: 10 hours per week, 52 weeks per year
Shift: 3:30pm -5:30pm preferred (mornings would be considered 6am-8am).
Salary: £13.18 per hour (FTE £24,732)
About the Role:
Are you passionate about cleanliness and take pride in your work? We are looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Cleaner to join our team at the College. You will play a crucial role in maintaining high standards of cleanliness across the campus, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for students, staff and visitors.
Key Responsibilities:
Toilet and Cloakroom Areas:
* Clean lavatory basins, sinks, and taps
* Refill toilet and towel dispensers
* Wipe tiles, polish mirrors, and clean paintwork
* Empty rubbish bins and mop floors
Teaching Areas/Offices/Meeting Rooms/Reception Areas/Corridors/Stairs:
* Vacuum and mop floors
* Damp dust furniture and fixtures
* Empty bins and clean sinks
* Remove marks from glass, doors, and walls
* Notify the Building Supervisor of any deficiencies or repair needs
Other Responsibilities:
* Use cleaning chemicals and materials safely, following Health and Safety guidelines
* Operate cleaning machinery as trained
* Check and close windows and switch off lights after work
* Report hazards or defects promptly
* Perform routine cleaning during College closures, including high-level dusting and surface washing
* Attend relevant training as required
Requirements:
* Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness
* Previous experience in a cleaning role is preferred but not essential; training will be provided.
* Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively.
* A proactive attitude with the drive to maintain high standards of cleanliness.
* Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
* Flexibility in working hours may be required based on operational needs.

"The school is very well led and is on a journey of continuous improvement. Parents express high levels of confidence in the school. Staff are overwhelmingly positive about leaders' concern for their workload and well-being. Staff say that leaders act quickly on any concerns that they raise.
