Business Continuity and Resilience Officer
Join Warwickshire Fire and Rescue Service (WFRS) and play a vital role in strengthening our ability to prepare for, respond to, and recover from disruption. We are looking for a forward‑thinking, motivated individual to become our next Business Continuity & Resilience Officer, working within the Risk Management and Assurance (RM&A) Team.
About the Organisation
Warwickshire Fire and Rescue Service is a county fire and rescue service operating under the governance of Warwickshire County Council. It is committed to protecting communities through prevention, protection, response, and resilience services.
About the Team
The RM&A Team plays a pivotal role in organisational development with responsibilities including risk management, organisational assurance and evaluation, debriefing, and continuous learning and improvement. The team embeds a culture of organisational resilience across the Service and works closely with internal departments, senior leaders, and external partners.
About the Role
This is an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys variety, collaboration, and making a real difference in public service. As part of the RM&A Team, you will help ensure critical services continue to operate during challenges such as cyber incidents, severe weather, and major emergencies.
Responsibilities
* Design, test and improve business continuity arrangements.
* Collaborate with internal teams, senior leaders and external partners.
* Lead debriefs and embed continuous learning across the Service.
* Support multi‑agency planning and participate in the Warwickshire Local Resilience Forum.
* Drive innovative projects and contribute to real‑world incident response.
Key Requirements
* Knowledge, experience and understanding of Business Continuity, including a relevant certification (e.g., Member of Business Continuity Institute – MBCI) or willingness to work towards one.
* Experience conducting business impact analyses and risk assessments.
* Understanding of the Civil Contingencies Act 2004 and related legislation.
* Experience producing mid‑ and long‑term plans, managing risk assessments, and developing business continuity plans.
* Understanding of Category 1 and 2 responder roles.
