Job Summary

We are seeking a driven and well‑motivated Music Therapist to deliver Music Therapy to designated patient groups across Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board. The role will provide input to a variety of groups in line with the service area priorities, as identified by the Head of Arts Therapy and supported by the Director of Allied Health Professions.


Key Responsibilities

* Provide clinical leadership under the Head of Service in the delivery of the Music Therapy service within the specialist area.
* Develop, implement, maintain and cascade Music Therapy clinical standards in line with evidence‑based best practice.
* Create a competency‑based framework for practitioners in the specialist area.
* Critically analyse, appraise and synthesize current research outcomes and relevant literature to maintain expert knowledge and practice.
* Establish working partnerships with voluntary and third‑sector services as appropriate.
* Actively participate in developing services as part of a national and local clinical network.
* Develop care pathways, local clinical standards, guidelines and protocols informed by evidence for the specialist area.


About the Organisation

Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board (BCUHB) is the largest health organisation in Wales, providing primary, community, mental health, acute and elective services for a population of approximately 700,000 across North Wales.


Qualifications

* Degree in Music Therapy or equivalent and short specialist courses, experience to post‑graduate equivalent diploma level.
* Master's level education or equivalent specialist knowledge and experience.
* Membership of the British Association of Music Therapy (BAMT) is desirable.
* Significant post‑graduate experience with demonstrated competence to carry a specialist caseload, service development and implementation of service changes.
* Understanding of supervision and delegation principles.
* Broad experience within community music settings is desirable.


Requirements

Welsh language skills are desirable but not mandatory; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome.

Part‑time permanent position, Band 7, salary £48,527 to £55,532 per annum pro rata. Applications will be processed via the email account registered on the application form.
