Are you an experienced Payroll professional looking for your next contract? We’re recruiting for an immediate-start HR & Payroll Officer to support a busy local authority payroll function. This role offers predominantly remote working, with minimal office attendance.
The Role
You will provide day-to-day operational support across the HR Payroll and Employee Benefits service. This includes processing payrolls for a designated area and acting as the first line of support for payroll and employee queries.
Key Responsibilities
* Process payroll accurately using iTrent HR & Payroll
* Act as first-line support for payroll queries
* Maintain accurate payroll records and ensure compliance
* Apply Local Government and Teachers’ terms and conditions
* Support with pension scheme regulations (LGPS / Teachers’ Pensions)
What We’re Looking For
To be considered, candidates must have:
* Payroll experience within a Local AuthorityOR hands-on experience using iTrent Payroll
* Knowledge of Local Government and Teachers’ terms & conditions
* Understanding of public sector pension schemes
* Strong accuracy, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills
Contract Details
* Pay: £15.99–£17.50 per hour (weekly pay)
* Duration: 3–6 months - with a possibility of getting extended
* Start: ASAP
