Are you an experienced automotive sales leader ready to take your career to the next level? We’re looking for a driven, results-oriented General Sales Manager to lead the sales operation at our well-established Franchised Main Dealership in Barnstaple.
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a respected dealership group with a strong customer base, excellent brand partnerships, and a track record of success.
As General Sales Manager, you’ll be responsible for the overall performance and profitability of the sales department. You’ll lead, coach, and inspire a team of Sales Executives to deliver outstanding results in both new and used car sales, finance, and add-on products — all while ensuring the highest levels of customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities as a General Sales Manager:
9. Lead, motivate, and develop the sales team to achieve and exceed targets
10. Drive a high-performance culture across new and used vehicle sales
11. Monitor KPIs, sales performance, and customer feedback
12. Work closely with the Aftersales and Marketing departments to maximise profitability
13. Ensure compliance with FCA guidelines and all relevant dealership standards
14. Maintain strong relationships with manufacturer partners and internal stakeholders
Requirements of the General Sales Manager:
15. Proven track record as a Sales Manager or General Sales Manager in a franchised dealership environment
16. Strong leadership, coaching, and people management skills
17. A passion for delivering exceptional customer experiences
18. Solid understanding of finance products and FCA compliance
19. Commercially astute with a results-driven mindset
20. Full UK driving licence
