Nurse Assessor / Functional Assessor – Hybrid, Weymouth
£37,500 – £40,000 + £2,000 approval bonus + performance bonus + benefits
Use your clinical skills without shifts, weekends, or hands-on care. We’re recruiting Registered Nurses and other registered healthcare professionals for a hybrid Functional Assessor role based in Weymouth.
Role overview
Full-time or part-time permanent role, Monday to Friday. Office hours with hybrid working; typically two days per week onsite in Weymouth. Assessments are completed via telephone, video, or face-to-face. All appointments are pre-booked.
The role focuses on assessment, clinical reasoning, and report writing. There is no treatment, no prescribing, no manual handling, and no on-call work.
What you’ll do / Responsibilities
* Carry out structured assessments to understand how a person’s physical or mental health condition affects day-to-day functioning.
* Conduct structured clinical conversations using professional judgment.
* Review medical evidence and supporting documentation.
* Produce clear, objective, evidence-based written reports.
* Use secure clinical systems and digital templates.
* Contribute reports used to support formal disability benefit decisions.
* There is no hands-on treatment, no prescribing, no on-call work, and no manual handling.
What you’ll need / Qualifications
* You must be registered as one of the following:
o Nurse (RGN, RMN or RNLD) with NMC registration
o Physiotherapist with HCPC registration
o Occupational Therapist with HCPC registration
o Paramedic with HCPC registration
o Pharmacist with GPhC registration
* A minimum of 12 months post-registration experience
* Strong communication and clinical reasoning skills
* Confidence with report writing and IT systems
* Ability to work to deadlines in a structured environment
* You must have the right to work in the UK. Sponsorship is not available for this role.
Pay, progression and benefits
* Salary of £37,500 to £40,000
* £2,000 approval bonus
* Up to 10% annual bonus based on quality and performance
