Service and Repair Technician, Full-Time

Who you are:
We’re looking for a motivated and passionate individual who has engineering and administrative skills.You’re organised, methodical and take pride in doing things well. You love system and process but can think outside the box to help drive our operations forward. You always seek to understand the underlying reason of every task and relentlessly find ways to simplify or automate things. Most importantly you are a team player.
You’ll process and repair of finished product returns and offer technical support to the warehouse and customer care teams. You’ll be taking full responsibility for fault finding, investigating and subsequently repairing and refurbishing goods returned for refund or repair from trade and end-user customers as well as support with warehouse duties, unloading and loading products and despatch.
What you’ll be doing:
* Receive, record all finished product returns into the stock control system. The order of priorities
i.Check in trade returns so that credit notes can be raised and stock adjusted
ii.Check in and process end-user repairs and returns
iii.Process any other stock awaiting repairs to ensure all stock is in sellable condition
* Investigate all trade and end-user customer returns promptly to identify if units are faulty. Record outcome of investigation in the stock control system or equivalent
* For faulty units determine the best course of action. This could be repair, refurbish or return to the manufacturer, as appropriate. Record faults and resulting repairs in the stock control system or equivalent. Record returns to the manufacturer in the appropriate system
* Process the returns in the stock control system in accordance with Lumie’s procedures
* Dispatch customer returns, alongside the customer care team if appropriate
* Order and manage stocks of spare parts
* Monitor and report any emerging fault trends to the Technical Department
* Maintain records of repair data as described by Lumie internal processes
* Provide support to the technical team to perform tests or do rework as necessary
* Carrying out GRIT tests (Goods receiving and inspection) on samples from incoming goods as per Lumie procedures
Warehouse Support:
* Help checking new incoming goods where inspection is required
* Forklift handling
* Despatch tasks in the absence of the Warehouse Manager or as requested during the high season
* Unloading of containers
* Assist with stocktake
Essential Skills and Experience:
* Troubleshooting faults at component and system level
* Familiar with basic electronics circuits
* Soldering skills - ability to solder fine pitch components
* Problem-solving skills and a methodical mindset
* Ability to work to documented procedures
* IT skills (Microsoft Office Suite and Data entry)
* Good organisational skills
* Experience working in electronics manufacturing and development environment
* Experience working in warehouse environment and tasks
Desirable Skills and Experience :
* Past experience working as Electronics Lab Technician and ability to use common lab equipment (oscilloscope etc)
* Able to read schematic diagrams
