The Company
A family run successful dairy and mixed farm business with 800 acres for the arable side.
The Job Role
The Arable Operator will be focused on the cereals - sowing, spraying and harvesting, also silage work. There may also be support required at times with the livestock, moving cattle and young stock.
Location: North East Scotland
Salary Package
For a 40-hour week circa £15/hour, depending on experience, + overtime.
* On farm, 3-bedroom semi-detached accommodation.
Key Responsibilities
1. Tractor and machinery operations for all arable operations, particularly the spraying.
2. Silage work.
3. Drilling and cultivating.
4. Digger/drainage work.
5. All aspects of harvest work.
Candidate Skills And Experience
1. Must have previous experience in operating farm machinery, at least 3+ years.
2. Proven experience of full arable operations and spraying.
3. Will need PA1 and PA2 Sprayer Tickets.
4. GPS Skills.
5. Workshop Skills With Welding Experience Desirable.
6. Digger and drainage experience.
7. Drilling and cultivating experience.
8. A strong attention to detail.
9. Basic maintenance and understanding to look after tractors and machinery.
10. Ability to manage own workload and spray sheet.
11. Flexibility to support with a variety of jobs when required.
Personal Attributes
1. Livestock handling experience desired but not essential.
2. Be a good team player.
3. Pro-active and can-do attitude.
4. Enthusiastic.
Other
1. Ability to work overtime hours when required.
2. Hold a valid UK driving licence.
3. Telehandler/forklift tickets are desirable but not essential.
