Overview
You will act as a subject matter expert, guiding the organisation through business impact assessments, plan development, training and exercising, and post-incident reviews to support recovery and maintain public confidence.
Responsibilities
* Line management of the Business Continuity Advisor;
* Leading the development and implementation of the Force's Business Continuity Management (BCM) framework;
* Identifying critical functions and assessing risks to operational continuity;
* Designing and maintaining robust business continuity plans;
* Coordinating training and scenario-based exercises across departments;
* Providing expert advice to senior leadership on resilience, risk, and recovery;
* Ensuring alignment with national standards, legislation, and College of Policing guidance;
* Collaborating with partner agencies, local authorities, and emergency services on multi-agency continuity planning;
* Monitoring and reporting on BCM performance and compliance through audits and reviews.
Qualifications
* Educated to QCF level 6 or to have undertaken work experience deemed to have brought the post holder to a comparable level.
* Proven experience in business continuity, resilience, or risk management.
* Strong understanding of ISO 22301 and business continuity best practice.
* Excellent communication, influencing, and stakeholder management skills.
* Ability to work under pressure, manage competing priorities, and respond quickly to emerging incidents.
* Relevant qualifications (e.g. CBCI, MBCI, or equivalent) are highly desirable.
