Are you an experienced Teaching Assistant passionate about supporting children’s learning and development? A welcoming and inclusive primary school in Cambridge is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join their team from September Via Reed education
Role Overview: This is a full-time position focused on delivering small group intervention sessions for pupils in Key Stage 1 (KS1) and Key Stage 2 (KS2) who require additional support in reading and writing. The ideal candidate will have experience working with these age groups and a strong understanding of literacy support strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
* Plan and deliver targeted intervention sessions in reading and writing.
* Support pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN), adapting sessions to meet individual needs.
* Work closely with class teachers and the SENCO to monitor progress and adjust support as needed.
* Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Requirements:
* Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant, ideally with intervention work.
* Experience supporting pupils in KS1 and KS2.
* Knowledge or experience working with SEN pupils (highly beneficial).
* A valid DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply for one.
* Must have a UK address and right to work in the UK.
Desirable:
* Experience planning and leading literacy interventions.
* Understanding of phonics and early reading strategies.
