Job Role: Finance Director/ CFO Job Location: Enfield – Remote Working 12 - Month ongoing contract Key Responsibilities Strategic Financial Leadership * Develop and implement financial strategies to ensure the company’s operational and strategic objectives are met. * Provide financial oversight for district heating projects, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost management. * Advise the Board and executive team on financial risks, opportunities, and strategic initiatives. Financial Operations * Oversee the preparation and accuracy of financial reports, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards. * Manage cash flow, working capital, and funding for ongoing and future projects. * Ensure timely and accurate billing, revenue recognition, and cost recovery processes, specific to district heating operations. Stakeholder Management * Collaborate with external stakeholders, including investors, regulators, auditors, and local authorities. * Act as the financial point of contact for project funding and capital investment discussions. * Maintain strong relationships with suppliers, contractors, and other key partners. Risk Management and Compliance * Identify and manage financial risks, particularly those related to energy pricing, contract agreements, and infrastructure investment. * Ensure compliance with all tax, regulatory, and reporting obligations, including specific energy sector requirements. * Monitor and manage exposure to fluctuations in energy markets and related financial implications. Team Leadership * Review and enhance financial processes, controls, and reporting systems to improve efficiency and accuracy. * Provide financial guidance to operational teams to ensure alignment with the company’s objectives. Qualifications and Experience * Proven experience as a Finance Director, CFO, or senior financial leader, ideally in the energy, utilities, or infrastructure sectors. * Strong understanding of district heating operations, energy markets, and relevant financial challenges. * Qualified accountant * Demonstrated expertise in financial strategy, forecasting, and risk management. * Knowledge of UK regulatory and compliance requirements in the energy sector. * Experience managing project financing and capital investment in large-scale infrastructure projects. * Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills.
