BACKGROUND
Healthcare Central London (HCL) is the GP Federation covering the Central London CCG area. The organisation supports 31 General Practices and 4 Primary Care Networks (PCNs). We operate a number of NHS contracts including a Care Navigation Service, a Clinical Pharmacy Service, a Community Dermatology Service, and Partnership in Practice (PiP) - an out-of-hospitals provision subcontracted to our 31 General Practice members.

JOB ROLE
We seek HCAs to join our friendly team at South Westminster Centre, providing face-to-face out-of-hours care for registered patients in the Enhanced Access service.
Enhanced Access operates from 18:30 to 20:00 on weekdays and 09:00 to 16:00 on Saturdays.
You will work within a multidisciplinary team including GPs, ANPs, HCAs, and Nurses, supported by Care Coordinators.

KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Follow guidelines and undertake tasks for which you are trained and competent.
· Record and perform:
* Blood pressure and pulse
* Height, weight, and BMI
* Urine testing
* Blood glucose measurement
* ECGs
* Peak flow measurement
* Smoking status
* Weight management advice
· Take and prepare pathology samples, including venepuncture, INR, and urinalysis.
· Wound management following formulary and care plans.
· Administer injections (B12, Influenza, Pneumonia, Shingles) under Patient Specific Directives.
· Assist in minor surgeries and procedures.
· Support chronic disease management under supervision.
· Provide accurate information to patients.
· Assist in urgent/emergency care, including initiating emergency responses.
· Act as chaperone and assist patients.
· Perform other clinical tasks as trained.
· Prepare and maintain clinical environments and equipment per infection control guidelines.
· Assist with infection control audits.
· Maintain stock levels and ensure proper storage and rotation.
· Assist with health promotion campaigns.
· Keep accurate records and documentation.
· Recognize safeguarding issues and escalate concerns.
· Support training and education of staff and trainees.
· Promote healthy living and service uptake within the community.
PERSON SPECIFICATION
Skills and Knowledge
· Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
· Experience with phlebotomy, ECGs, wound care, physiological observations, IM injections under PSD, urinalysis, health checks, and spirometry.
Desired experience
· Experience working in a GP practice or patient-facing environment.

· Care Certificate
· Phlebotomy training certificate
