Reserves Officer (Oxon)

Salary: £15972 - £16972 (pro rata) per annum (FTE £26,620 - £28,288)

Contract type: Permanent

Working hours: Part time

Location: Chimney Meadows incl. Duxford Old River, 9 miles west of Abingdon, Bampton, Oxfordshire, OX18 2EH

The Oxon Reserves Officer will help nature recover by delivering practical work aimed at optimising habitats on our Oxon reserves and beyond. You’ll be joining a friendly and highly skilled team, where your contribution will be recognised and achievements are celebrated.

Contract: Permanent

Hours: 21 hours (3 days) per week. Flexibility in working pattern, in agreement with line manager

Based: Chimney Meadows, Bampton, Oxon. Hybrid working available.

The Oxon Reserves Officer will help nature recover by delivering practical work aimed at optimising habitats on our Oxon reserves and beyond. You’ll be joining a friendly and highly skilled team, where your contribution will be recognised and achievements are celebrated.


What you’ll be doing

* Managing Duxford Old River land on Chimney Meadows and delivering the Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG) project
* Carrying out reserve management using contractors, graziers and volunteers
* Running annual programme of guided walks on Oxon reserves
* Assisting with management of other Oxon reserves and livestock tasks


What we’re looking for

* Excellent project management skills including managing contractors and graziers
* In-depth knowledge of nature conservation management
* High level of skill in a range of practical conservation techniques
* Ability to appropriately utilise volunteers to deliver work, ensuring their and BBOWT’s needs are met
