Perioperative Disposal Healthcare Support Worker – Main Theatre Suite, Aberdeen Royal Infirmary
Responsibilities
* Assisting with the preparation and packing of used surgical instrumentation for transportation to the Central Decontamination Unit.
* Ensuring theatre disposal areas are clean, well stocked and meet safety standards.
* Maintaining an efficient source and supply of instruments in accordance with service requirements.
* Working as part of the Perioperative Disposal Instrument Team in a non‑patient‑facing capacity.
* Demonstrating flexibility to work across the 7‑day week service.
Qualifications & Skills
* Physically fit with excellent communication skills.
* Ability to work under pressure in a busy, 7‑day‑week environment.
* Motivated, enthusiastic, capable of working in a team and independently.
* Willingness to learn; prior experience in a similar area considered advantageous.
* Strong interest and understanding of peri‑operative disposal processes.
* Mandatory induction standards for Healthcare Support Workers in Scotland achieved.
* Compliance with the Code of Conduct throughout employment.
