We are currently recruiting for an experienced Fitter to join a busy and expanding operation in Milton Keynes. This is a practical, field-based and workshop-supported role suited to someone who enjoys variety, problem solving and working with heavy plant or construction equipment.
The position involves fitting, servicing and repairing hydraulic attachments, along with delivering and collecting equipment and safely attaching or removing attachments on customer sites.
The Role
1. Deliver and collect machinery and attachments to and from customer sites
2. Fit, remove and assemble hydraulic attachments on a range of plant equipment
3. Carry out pre-delivery inspections (PDI) to ensure machines and attachments are safe and operational
4. Diagnose hydraulic faults and complete repairs in a timely manner
5. Perform routine servicing and preventative maintenance
6. Complete job sheets and maintain accurate service and parts records
7. Work alongside technical teams to improve equipment performance where required
8. Follow all company health & safety procedures at all times
About You
9. Hands-on experience working with hydraulics and mechanical fitting
10. Confident reading technical drawings and hydraulic schematics
11. Strong fault-finding and troubleshooting ability
12. Reliable, self-motivated and able to manage workload independently
13. Good communication and customer-facing skills
14. Full UK driving licence is essential
Advantageous but Not Essential
15. Experience with plant, agricultural or construction machinery
16. Relevant hydraulic or mechanical qualifications/certifications
17. Split between workshop duties and on-site field work
18. Physical role involving lifting and manual handling
19. Occasional overtime and travel depending on workload
20. Working hours: 7:30am – 5:30pm
21. £37,000 – £38,000 per annum + On-Site Work Van (business use only)
