An exciting opportunity has arisen to recruit an Optometrist to our expanding Optometry team within Ophthalmology at NHS Tayside. The post offers full time hours with part time considered, with a minimum of 15hours a week.
The focus of this post will be within contact lens clinics and paediatrics; other core optometry clinics may also be included to allow for variety in job plan. You will work closely with our Corneal consultant to provide contact lens clinics and work alongside our Orthoptic team and Paediatric Ophthalmologists in various clinical settings to help provide the Paediatric Service. This would also lend its hand to possible scope of extended roles. There are opportunities to attend conferences such as Scottish Ophthalmology Club and be a part of delivering the annual Ophthalmology teaching of medical students.
Experience of therapeutic contact lenses would be desirable, however not essential. Ongoing training will be provided to the successful candidate to allow them the opportunity in a diverse range of clinics. Evidence of good interpersonal skills, ability to prioritise workload and the ability to work independently or within a team are essential.
You must hold General Optical Council registration and have post-registration experience. As you may be required to work throughout NHS Tayside sides, the ability to travel is essential.
