Main Duties
* Deliver preventative maintenance, servicing, calibration, and repairs on a broad range of electrical, electronic, and mechanical medical devices.
* Support the commissioning and acceptance of new medical equipment.
* Diagnose faults and carry out corrective actions on patient‑connected and life‑support systems.
* Provide technical advice and support to clinical staff, promoting safe and effective equipment use.
* Work across various departments, occasionally under pressure, to support urgent clinical needs.
* Maintain meticulous technical records in line with ISO 9001:2015 standards and Trust protocols.
* Contribute to training, continuous improvement, and development initiatives within the Clinical Engineering service.
Qualifications
Essential
* HNC or Level 4 qualification in Clinical Engineering, Electronics, or equivalent.
* Experience of working with electronic or electromechanical systems.
* Basic understanding of medical equipment safety and function.
* Familiarity with health and safety practices.
Desirable
* Further technical or vocational training (e.g., medical device servicing courses).
* Professional registration (EngTech).
* Previous NHS or healthcare engineering experience.
* Experience using a CMMS (e.g., e-Quip).
* Awareness of standards such as IEC 62353, UK MDR.
