Job Overview
We are looking for an experienced and skilled Private Client Lawyer to provide comprehensive legal services to our diverse clientele. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in private client work, including drafting wills, creating Lasting Powers of Attorney (LPAs), and managing estate planning and administration. Key Responsibilities
Provide expert legal advice and guidance to clients on a wide range of private client matters, including wills, trusts, estate planning, and probate
Draft, review, and update wills, ensuring they accurately reflect clients' wishes and comply with current legislation
Prepare and register Lasting Powers of Attorney (LPAs) for both property and financial affairs and health and welfare
Manage the administration of estates, including obtaining grants of probate, dealing with inheritance tax issues, and distributing assets to beneficiaries
Advise on and implement tax-efficient estate planning strategies for high-net-worth individuals and families
Handle trust creation, administration, and termination, including drafting trust deeds and advising trustees on their duties and responsibilities
Provide counsel on issues related to mental capacity and Court of Protection matters
Assist with the preparation of Deputyship applications and ongoing management of deputyships
Collaborate with other departments and external professionals (e.g., accountants, financial advisors) to provide comprehensive solutions for clients
Stay up-to-date with changes in relevant legislation and case law, ensuring compliance and best practices in all areas of private client work
Develop and maintain strong client relationships, providing a high level of customer service and support
Contribute to the firm's business development efforts by participating in networking events, seminars, and other marketing initiatives
Mentor and support junior members of the team, fostering a collaborative and knowledge-sharing environment
Manage your own caseload efficiently, meeting deadlines and maintaining accurate records
Prepare clear and concise legal documents, correspondence, and reports for clients and internal use
Qualifications and Requirements
Qualified solicitor with a valid practicing certificate in England and Wales
1-10 years of post-qualification experience in private client work
Extensive knowledge and experience in drafting wills, LPAs, and other private client documents
Strong understanding of estate planning, probate, and trust law
Excellent drafting skills with meticulous attention to detail
Proficiency in relevant legal software and case management systems
Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex legal concepts to clients in a clear and accessible manner
Proven ability to manage a diverse caseload and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving skills

Core Hours are: Monday – Friday, 9am – 5pm = 35 hours per weekBenefits:
