Responsibilities
1. Provide nursing leadership for the hospital during scheduled shifts.
2. Supervise and mentor nursing/support staff.
3. Determine staffing needs based on patient census, acuity, and staff availability.
4. Provide direct patient care as needed.
5. Assist with problem-solving and float to support staff.
6. Evaluate patient care effectiveness and address issues.
7. Respond to patient care complaints and manage through appropriate channels.
8. Perform role-specific duties, including entering orders, admissions, discharges, and transfers.
9. Ensure staff has necessary equipment and supplies.
10. Implement evidence-based practices into operations and protocols.
11. Create an environment fostering professional growth.
12. Maintain records of staff attendance and time.
13. Assist with quality audits and projects.
Qualifications

Minimum Education
* Associate’s degree required
* Bachelor’s degree preferred
Certifications
* Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of hire
* Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) within 6 months of hire
* Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) within 6 months of hire
Licenses
* Registered Nurse license in Kentucky
