We are an Outstanding rated GP practice in Chester le Street looking to expand our friendly and efficient reception team. The right candidate will be enthusiastic, pleasant, professional, and good with people. You will work alongside experienced colleagues, and the position is open to both new starters and experienced staff. You will learn new skills, and every day is different, involving telephone, face-to-face contact, and using computer systems. Teamwork is very important, and you will be central to the smooth running of the practice, which will support you.
We are looking for someone to work on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday - full-time hours.

Main duties of the job
* Helping patients in person and on the phone with appointments, queries, and prescription requests.
* Using patient computer records and other systems to communicate, accurately input, and extract information.
* Being a central point of contact, helping coordinate and deliver good healthcare by the team, including doctors, nurse practitioners, nurses, secretaries, admin staff, and external groups like district nurses, nursing homes, and hospitals.
* Using specific systems such as Care Navigation to assist patients (training available), handling tasks assigned to reception, registering new patients, and collecting basic information from them, among other duties.
* Being a good colleague and team member, helping each other and the patients. Experience with GP software, including SystmOne, is preferred but not essential; training will be provided for unfamiliar systems. The role can be busy and challenging, but also rewarding. Multitasking skills are a definite advantage.

We are a long-established practice based in Chester le Street, a small market town. Our patient population is growing and currently stands at 12,700. We also have a sister practice in Coxhoe with 6,900 patients. Cross-site working is possible. Our facilities include a car park, staff kitchen, and common room.
