The role
The Data Operations Coordinator manages the flow and accuracy of information that informs our commercial advisory projects. In this role, you will specifically support a project for our partner in the West Midlands by ensuring the data used for financial modeling is clean and verified.
About Blue Oak Consulting Blue Oak Consulting provides independent advisory on pricing, portfolio economics, capital allocation, and acquisition assumptions. We are not a traditional consulting firm focused on broad transformation programs or high level strategy decks. Instead, we interrogate specific commercial decisions where the financial stakes are high and the existing narrative is not sufficient. Our team looks past corporate language and P&L complexity to identify where value is leaking or capital is trapped. We work across sectors like software, manufacturing, and healthcare to test whether the assumptions behind a growth plan or an acquisition actually hold up. We are a small, principal led firm where the people who do the work are the ones accountable for the results. We do not take transaction contingent fees, which allows us to be completely honest about whether the economics of a decision make sense. Our goal is to provide clarity through financial discipline and a healthy amount of skepticism. We stay through the execution phase because decisions that look sound in theory often fail when they meet real world friction.
The Role This is a full time, permanent position that functions in a fully remote capacity. As a Data Operations Coordinator, you will act as the primary organizer of raw information before it reaches our senior advisors. You will be responsible for taking messy, fragmented data from various client sources and turning it into a structured format that we can use for financial analysis. The work is steady and requires a high degree of focus, as a single error in a spreadsheet can change the outcome of a major commercial decision. You will work closely with our principals to understand the specific data needs of each project, particularly for our ongoing engagement with a partner in the West Midlands. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys finding patterns in numbers and who prefers direct, honest communication over corporate jargon.

- Organizing digital files and project documentation to maintain a clear trail of evidence.
- Populating basic financial models with verified data points for use by senior consultants.
- Verifying historical pricing data and volume figures against source documents.

- Good written communication skills to explain data findings or ask for clarification.
- A curious mindset and a desire to understand why a business makes or loses money.
- Reliable internet access and a professional approach to remote collaboration.
- Patience for repetitive tasks that require absolute precision.
- Total honesty regarding errors, as we rely on accuracy more than speed.
What We Offer- The opportunity to work in a 100 percent remote environment without office requirements.
- Direct exposure to senior principals who have extensive experience in high stakes advisory.
- Structured training on our specific approach to financial discipline and data interrogation.
- A work culture that values plain English and evidence over corporate buzzwords.
- Competitive pay for an entry level position within the specialized consulting market.
- A stable, permanent role with a clear focus and a direct impact on project outcomes.
- Access to challenging projects across various industries including healthcare and software.
Our firm is built on the idea that financial decisions should be based on reality rather than optimistic projections. By joining as a Data Operations Coordinator, you ensure that our advice starts with a foundation of facts. We value the quiet work of getting the numbers right and we provide the support necessary for you to develop your analytical skills in a professional, remote setting. Working here means sticking to the truth of the data and helping our clients understand the actual economics of their business.
