Your new companyA growing and forward-thinking organisation is seeking a motivated Finance Assistant to join its busy finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced finance professional looking to develop their career within a supportive and fast-paced environment.Your new roleAs the Finance Assistant, you will support the smooth running of the finance function across purchase ledger, sales ledger, banking and month-end duties. Your key responsibilities will include:
* Assisting in purchase ledger including matching, posting and reconciling purchase invoices
* Managing credit notes
* Handling supplier account queries
* Reconciling supplier statements
* Preparing and issuing sales invoices
* Managing daily customer queries
* Supporting credit control with outstanding issues
* Performing daily bank reconciliations
* Processing staff expenses
* Managing payment runs and the direct debit system
* Assisting with accruals, prepayments and month-end tasks
* Completing balance sheet reconciliations and investigating variances
* Managing the shared finance mailbox
* Providing timely updates to senior managers
* Supporting wider finance operations as required
What you'll need to succeed
* Minimum 2 years' experience in a similar finance role
* Strong attention to detail and high-quality work standards
* Ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet deadlines
* Good working knowledge of finance processes
* Confident communication skills and a team-focused attitude
* Excellent time management and organisational skills
* A proactive, ambitious and positive approach to work
