Job Overview We are looking a Control of Works officer to join our clients team. The Control Officer plays a vital role in ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and internal policies within the organisation. As our client's Control of Works Officer, you'll be at the heart of ensuring every contractor interaction meets our exacting safety standards, protecting their people, their operations, and their reputation across all UK locations. This isn't just about paperwork and permits. You'll be the trusted expert who ensures every piece of work – from routine maintenance to critical infrastructure projects – is executed safely, efficiently, and to the highest professional standards. Your decisions will directly impact the safety and success of one of the world's most dynamic aviation service providers. Requirements Vetting and assessment of service providers and contractors with regards to health, safety and competence prior to award of works/contracts and placing on the company procurement database Develop and maintain procedures covering the control and management of contractors and other documents/procedures as requested Assessment and approval of contractor health and safety documentation prior to maintenance works being undertaken, including but not limited to risk assessments, method statements, training/qualifications, accreditations and insurance requirements Liase with service providers and contractors to ensure documentation meets company expectations Manage the company’s permit-to-work system, including the preparation and issuance of general permits and specialist permits such as hot works, work at height, electrical works etc. Monitor and audit compliance with permit-to-work system ensuring work activities are completed in line with permit requirements Support the development of risk assessments and procedures covering work activities completed by the facilities maintenance team Provide support for all company Construction, Design and Management (CDM 2015) requirements when required To undertake any other duties as required by management, commensurate with the grade of the post Skills Leadership Coaching Strategic thinking Excellent communication/interpersonal People management Negotiation Influencing Change management IT Motivator Decision making Problem solving Safety driven Benefits £46,000.00 per year Full Time
