We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Psychology Graduate to join our primary school as a Graduate Teaching Assistant. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to gain hands‑on experience working with children, particularly those interested in careers in education, educational psychology, or child development.
You will support pupils both in and out of the classroom, helping to promote positive behaviour, emotional wellbeing and academic progress.

Hours: 8.30am – 3.30pm
Salary: £14.25 - £15 per hour
Start Date: ASAP
Key Responsibilities
* Support the class teacher in delivering engaging lessons
* Work with individuals and small groups to reinforce learning
* Provide targeted support for pupils with SEN, SEMH or additional needs
* Assist in implementing behaviour management and emotional regulation strategies
* Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils to support engagement
* Observe and monitor pupil progress, reporting to the class teacher and SENCo
* Help create a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
* A degree in Psychology (or a closely related subject)
* A strong interest in child development, SEN and mental health
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* A calm, patient and empathetic approach
* The ability to build rapport with children and staff
* A proactive attitude and willingness to learn
Desirable Skills/Experience
* Experience working with children or young people
* Understanding of SEN, ASD, ADHD or SEMH needs
* An interest in pursuing a career in teaching, educational psychology or therapy
