An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Rehabilitation Therapy Service (RTS) within the high-secure environment of Broadmoor Hospital. We are dedicated to empowering patients on their recovery journey through meaningful, therapeutic activities that build confidence, skills, and wellbeing. Our Health and Fitness team plays a vital role in helping patients stay active, improve their physical health, and develop positive lifestyle habits that support long-term recovery. We are looking for a motivated and proactive Health and Fitness Supervisor to join our team. Working as one of four supervisors, you will lead and support staff across shifts to deliver a diverse and engaging programme of physical activities.
Responsibilities
* Provide day-to-day local leadership of staff in Health and Fitness.
* Support and encourage patients with acute and enduring mental illness to engage in a variety of environments (Ward Gym, Main Fitness Suite, indoor Sports Hall, Outdoor 3G PU-MUGA, Fitness Studio).
* Ensure equal access to health and fitness activities for all patients, identifying activities suitable within personal health restrictions and environmental risks.
* Develop and implement new health activities considering patient demographics (age, culture, interests), including individualised or group programmes.
* Plan sessions in collaboration with the Dietician and Physiotherapy to support patients with physical limitations and weight issues.
* Participate in department safety procedures, such as daily searches of patients and the environment, preparation for sessions, patient observations, escorting patients, and managing patient incompatibilities.
