Job Purpose
An excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic and passionate Personal Advisor to join the Aftercare Team, providing dedicated support to Care Leavers. This role focuses on ensuring young people receive the guidance and assistance they need to achieve positive outcomes and transition successfully into independent adulthood.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide direct, sensitive, and skilful support to young people leaving care.
* Formulate, review, and oversee Pathway Plans for care leavers.
* Ensure the day-to-day oversight of cases, maintaining high standards of practice.
* Work collaboratively within a Signs of Safety and Think Family model.
* Support young people in education, employment, housing, health, and independent living.
* Contribute to achieving consistently outstanding outcomes through reflective practice and data analysis.
* Engage in regular supervision, training, and professional development opportunities.
Person Specification
Qualifications & Education
* Relevant qualification or equivalent experience in youth support, social care, or related field – Essential.
Experience
* Experience of working directly with young people in a supportive/advisory role – Essential.
* Knowledge of the challenges facing care leavers transitioning into independence – Essential.
* Experience of working within a social care or children's services environment – Desirable.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
* Strong understanding of the role of corporate parenting – Essential.
* Ability to analyse performance data and apply learning to practice – Essential.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills – Essential.
* Ability to build positive, trusting relationships with young people – Essential.
* Strong organisational skills and ability to manage a caseload – Essential.
* Ability to work independently and within a supportive team – Essential.
Pre-Employment Requirements
* Full UK Driving Licence – Essential.
* Enhanced DBS Check with Children's Barred List – Essential.
* Valid Passport or Photo ID to prove Right to Work in the UK.
* National Insurance Number.
