Job Description
My client is a biotech company looking to appoint a Contract Manager (FTC until end February 2026).
The opportunity will provide a lot of autonomy working alongside the CFO.
The role will support purely on contract management and is high volume.
Key Responsibilities:
* Assist with the drafting, review, and processing of standard agreements, including:
* Confidentiality agreements (CDAs/NDAs)
* Consultancy agreements
* Clinical trial agreements (under supervision)
* Master service agreements (MSAs)
* Research collaboration and material transfer agreements (MTAs)
* Maintain accurate records of contracts and monitor key dates (e.g. expiries, renewals, deliverables) via Contracts Management System (previous knowledge of DocuSign CLM preferred).
* Support contract negotiations for all departments by preparing initial drafts, managing redlines, and tracking changes.
* Help ensure contracts comply with internal policies, legal requirements, and industry regulations (e.g. MHRA, GDPR) by coordinating review with internal stakeholders and external counsel.
* Coordinate contract approval workflows (DocuSign CLM) and signatures using electronic platforms (DocuSign).
* Liaise with internal departments (e.g. clinical, R&D, procurement, finance) to gather required information and ensure alignment on contractual matters.
* Support the development and maintenance of standard templates and clause libraries.
* Assist with contract audits, reports, and administrative tasks as needed.
Skills & Experience Required:
* 2-3 years of experience in a legal, contracts, or paralegal role, preferably in the life sciences or healthcare industry.
* Basic understanding of contract law and standard commercial agreements.
* Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills.
* Good written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to work with both legal and non-legal stakeholders.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office and document editing tools; proficient in contract management system tools (DocuSign CLM is a plus).
