Bolton & Menk - Design Engineer, EIT
Bolton & Menk has an exciting opportunity for a Design Engineer, EIT, to join our Transportation team in our Minneapolis or Plymouth office. This civil engineering role seeks an EIT with at least 2+ years of experience who will help foster our mission that All People Should Live in Safe, Sustainable and Beautiful Communities. The majority of your time will be spent assisting project managers and engineers in design and construction activities on transportation projects.
Responsibilities:
1. Assist Project Engineers with design and construction activities on transportation projects.
2. Perform basic design computations, preliminary layout, research, and prepare drafts of reports and feasibility studies.
3. Assist with project plans, specifications, and cost/quantity estimates.
4. Support traffic corridor studies related to traffic operations, safety, modal integration, and access management.
5. Design traffic control devices including signals, signing, pavement markings, lighting, ITS, work zones, and detours.
6. Conduct construction observation, staking, documentation, testing, and interact with contractors and city staff.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited college.
2. Engineer-in-Training certification or ability to obtain within 12 months.
3. Experience in infrastructure design and/or construction observation.
4. Proficiency in CAD and design software such as AutoCAD Civil3D and MicroStation.
5. Knowledge of traffic software like SYNCHRO, VISSIM, etc., preferred.
6. Willingness to travel during construction season.
7. Valid driver’s license required.
Salary Range:
$58,000 - $90,000, depending on experience and credentials.
