Barker Ross are seeking a dedicated Production Hygienist to oversee hygiene and sanitation processes. The successful candidate will ensure all hygiene protocols are strictly followed to maintain product quality and comply with food safety standards such as GMP, HACCP, and FSSAI/ISO 22000.
Key Responsibilities:
Sanitation & Cleaning:
Oversee daily and deep-cleaning activities in production and packing zones.
Ensure hygienic handling of products during primary and secondary packaging.
Monitor cleaning and sanitising of equipment like flow wrappers, conveyors, heat sealers, and packing lines.
Maintain hygiene zoning (e.g., high-care, low-care areas) to prevent cross-contamination.
Hygiene Inspections & Monitoring:
routine inspections of production, packaging, and storage areas for hygiene compliance.
Perform surface swabs and environmental monitoring (e.g., air, hands, contact surfaces).
Monitor temperature, humidity, and cleanliness in chocolate storage and handling zones.
Documentation & Compliance:
Maintain accurate cleaning records, hygiene checklists, and deviation logs.
Ensure compliance with HACCP, GMP, FSSAI, ISO 22000, and internal audit protocols.
Prepare for internal and third-party food safety audits.
Pest Control:
Coordinate with pest control vendors to implement preventive pest control measures.
Conduct regular checks to ensure pest-free zones, especially around raw material and packaging storage.
Incident Management:
Support investigations into hygiene-related non-conformities or product contamination.
Recommend and verify implementation of corrective/preventive actions (CAPA).

Attire: You will be required to wear a hair net, overalls, gloves, and safety boots, all of which will be provided by the site to ensure safety and hygiene standards are met.
