Take your radiography and NHS career in a new direction and join the dynamic Radiology Clinical Governance team. The post holder will work closely with the Clinical Governance Manager and other colleagues in delivering the Quality and Clinical Governance Agenda for the Radiology Directorate. This role involves incident investigations, clinical audits, development of evidence‑based practices and policies, and collaboration with senior managers and clinicians across all levels.
Responsibilities
* Support the Clinical Governance Manager in delivering the Quality and Clinical Governance Agenda.
* Provide focus on all aspects of Clinical Governance – patient involvement, risk management, clinical audit, effectiveness and information.
* Work as part of the Radiology department team, carrying out responsibilities commensurate with a senior grade.
* Report on Clinical Governance progress in writing and verbally within the governance structure.
* Coordinate timely investigations of incidents and ensure actions are completed.
* Contribute to a working environment where patients receive optimum care.
* Undertake and encourage highly skilled clinical work in the Radiology directorate.
* Provide guidance, supervision and support for Trainee Assistant Practitioners, student radiographers and newly qualified staff.
* Support directorate‑wide and service‑wide sharing and learning.
* Use systems and processes to demonstrate compliance and provide assurance with regard to Care Quality Commission registration requirements, working with the Radiology Directorate and CSSD teams.
* Identify and assess patients independently, adjusting radiographic techniques to suit individual needs.
* Use professional discretion and experience to ensure clinical practice is performed professionally and within the legal framework.
Qualifications
* At least 3 years post‑graduate experience in radiography.
* Specialized in a particular imaging modality.
* Proven interest in Clinical Governance.
* Commitment to the NHS Sexual Safety Charter and adherence to its principles.
* Appropriate UK professional registration (e.g., HRA, Radiological Society).
