Qualifications
Essential criteria
* Full GMC and GDC registration
* Entry on to the GMC / GDC Specialist Register via : CCT (proposed CCT date must be within 6 months of interview) or CESR
* An appropriate higher Oral & Maxillofacial surgical qualification
Desirable criteria
* Compliant with all Mandatory Training
* Participation in management activity
* SpR Management course
* Publications on head and neck cancer in peer reviewed journals
Experience
Essential criteria
* Broad experience in all aspects of oral & maxillo-facial surgery.
* Proven interest and experience in Head & Neck surgery, including cancer surgery, microvascular surgery and facial deformity
* Experience in surgical dermatology
* Experience of emergency care.
Desirable criteria
* Evidence of involvement in research projects
* Appreciation of and evidence training in Human Factors
Skills
Essential criteria
* Competence in diagnosis of facial pain
* Competence in operative surgery and management of trauma.
* Competence in nasendoscopy
* Practical knowledge and proven experience of care of acutely ill patients.
* Experience of / ability to supervise and train junior doctors.
Desirable criteria
* Fellowship in head and neck oncology
