Our client is a leading privately owned Group operating within the Financial & Service sector with group revenues exceeding £60m, generated from a diverse portfolio of businesses across the UK & Ireland.

As part of the company's continued expansion—both organic growth and via M&A—with plans for an IPO in the coming years, FRS has been retained to assist in recruiting an experienced CFO to join the Group during this exciting period.

The CFO will work closely with the CEO; this is a key position that will help define the strategic vision, develop financial strategy, and provide strong financial leadership to the wider business and existing finance team, alongside preparations for the IPO.

The CFO will inherit an established and well-managed finance team of approximately 20 staff, led by a long-term Operational Finance Director.


CFO – Key Responsibilities and Skills:

1. Financial Strategy: Collaborate with the CEO and senior executives to develop a financial strategy aligned with the company's goals.
2. Financial Reporting: Ensure accurate, timely financial reports that comply with relevant regulations and meet investor expectations.
3. IPO Preparation: Review and strengthen the company's financial structure, including financial statements, cash flow management, and debt arrangements.
4. Team Building: Assemble and develop a finance team with expertise in controllership, FP&A, and investor relations.
5. Compliance: Ensure compliance with GAAP/IFRS standards and regulatory requirements, including establishing audit committees and internal controls.
6. Capital Raising: Collaborate with investment banks and underwriters to secure financing for the IPO.
7. Investor Relations: Communicate effectively with investors, provide regular updates, and foster trust.
8. Risk Management: Identify and mitigate financial, legal, and reputational risks associated with the IPO.
9. Leadership and Management: Demonstrate strong leadership to guide the team and oversee the IPO process.
10. Communication Skills: Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills for engaging with investors, advisors, and stakeholders. Tailor communication to institutional investors and build broader trust.


Candidate Profile:

The ideal candidate will be formally qualified (ACA / ACCA / CIMA) with at least 5-10 years of experience in strategic finance leadership roles, demonstrating a track record of delivering growth and improvement.

This position is suitable for candidates with significant M&A experience within private, PE/VC-backed businesses, or PLCs. Previous experience in IPO preparation or delivery is desirable but not essential.

In return, this role offers a dynamic, fast-paced, and progressive environment. The compensation package includes a basic salary of up to £200,000, along with executive benefits, an annual bonus, LTIPS, and equity.
