About the role
The Financial Accountant reports into the Finance manager and is a detail-orientated and analytical team member, maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and supporting on financial reporting and analysis. This role will play a key role in month-end and year-end close processes, financial statements preparation and audit coordination.
What you will be doing
* Prepare and maintain accurate financial records in accordance with applicable accounting standards (e.g., IFRS or GAAP)
* Manage month-end and year-end closing processes
* Prepare financial statements, reports, and supporting schedules
* Reconcile general ledger accounts, including bank, balance sheet, and intercompany accounts
* Ensure compliance with tax regulations and assist with tax filings
* Support internal and external audits by providing required documentation and explanations
* Monitor and analyse financial data to identify discrepancies or trends
* Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
* Maintain and improve accounting processes and internal controls
* Collaborate with internal departments to ensure accurate financial reporting
What we would like you to have
* Professional certification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent) is an advantage.
* 2+ years of financial management or accounting experience.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
* Excellent understanding of financial principles and reporting.
* Strong communication and leadership skills.
* Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
