What you'll do: Maintain a high level of vigilance to protect the site, staff, patients, visitors, and assets, responding promptly to intrusions, alarms, and incidents. Patrol the premises to deter and detect security risks, ensuring the integrity of doors, windows, gates, and perimeter security. Monitor and operate CCTV, access control, fire alarm, and weighbridge systems, taking appropriate action when required. Control site access for vehicles and pedestrians, including issuing and auditing access cards, conducting swipe-card checks, and managing parking compliance. Act as a site key holder and coordinate incidents with site management, responsible persons, and emergency services (including contacting ADT when required). Respond to incidents involving violence, aggression, or distress, using de-escalation, restraint (where trained), and first aid skills as necessary. Support incident management activities including cordons, road closures, diversions, and adverse weather arrangements (e.g. gritters, barriers, cones). Conduct staff, vehicle, and contractor searches where required and monitor subcontractor behaviour to ensure compliance with site rules. Carry out routine safety and compliance checks, including weekly fire alarm tests, reporting hazards, faults, damage, or maintenance issues promptly. Accurately record all incidents, near misses, and occurrences, completing reports, witness statements, and court attendance when required. Communicate professionally with patients, staff, visitors, and external stakeholders, handling calls, deliveries, post, and visitor notifications. Support general site operations including manual handling tasks, site inductions, administration duties, and ad hoc requests from site management. Ensure full compliance with Sodexo and client policies, health & safety requirements, and attend mandatory training, including maintaining first aid certification.
