Job overview

Are you an NMC registered nurse interested in joining the Public Health Nursing Service 5-19+ yrs (24 for SEND) as part of the integrated 0-19 children and young people’s services delivering the Healthy Child Programme across Buckinghamshire?

Successful applicants will join our passionate, dynamic and evolving service providing an ideal opportunity for nurses to develop new skills in public health nursing.


Main duties of the job

This position involves undertaking child, family and group interventions, specifically with children and young people from 5-19 years, within both school and home environments.

The post holder will benefit from a robust competency process, supervision and extensive training. All of which could support the progression onto the SCPHN (Specialist Community Public Health Nurse - School Nurse) programme through Bucks New University.

This position is based in the South of the county with your base being Amersham Hospital/Chalfonts and Gerrards Cross Community Hospital however you may be required to travel across sites to support the wider team as part of your role.

All new staff will be provided with agile working technology. Wehave successfully implemented virtual ways of working to support teams, children and schools, but with strong face to face support from an experienced skill mix team.

Person specification


EDUCATION, QUALIFICATIONS & TRAINING

* Registered Nurse Part 1 (sub part 1 or 2) /RSCN/RMN
* PASS/Mentorship in clinical Practice/ENB998 certificate


EXPERIENCE

* Experience of working with children, young people and families
* Can demonstrate working to scope of professional practice and use of evidence based practice
* Evidence of facilitation and presentation skills
* Knowledge of current issues and how they impact on professional practice, including Evidence Based Practice
* Ability to carry out complex clinical assessments
* Experience of Child Protection Policies and Procedures
* Experience of mentoring pre‑registration students
* Can demonstrate use of audit techniques


SPECIAL CIRCUMSTANCES e.g. Ability to travel to other sites. Ability to work internal rotation

* Ability to travel to various community sites on a daily basis and use of a vehicle
