Overview
Assistant Service Manager role at Cartrefi Cymru Co-operative. Location: Brecon/ Crickhowell. Hours: shift pattern will include weekends and sleep-ins. Contract: Permanent. Salary: £27,224 per year plus sleep-in shifts at £60 per night and travel expenses paid at 45p per mile.
What you’ll be doing
In this role you’ll be working alongside the Service Manager to ensure a safe and caring service for the people we support and our colleagues. You’ll be visible in the day-to-day operation of the service, supporting duties in line with the requirements of the people we support. You’ll work shifts on a rota basis which may include sleep-ins. In the absence of the Service Manager, you’ll have responsibility for the day-to-day running of the service. This will involve providing leadership and management to the team, monitoring performance, carrying out one-to-ones and appraisals, and holding team meetings.
You’ll enjoy building positive relationships with all stakeholders and putting our vision and values into action to deliver a first-class service. Your focus will be on achieving the highest levels of independence for the people we support, and on organising and modelling support in an innovative, person-centred and flexible way to make everyday remarkable.
Who we are looking for
* experience supporting people with learning difficulties in a social care setting
* Level 3 in Health and Social Care (or actively working towards)
* a strong caring nature to support others to live an enriched life and fulfil their potential
* a working knowledge and understanding of the Care Council for Wales Code of Practice
* flexibility to work shifts and provide cover as required
* a full driving licence - essential
* access to your own car and willingness to use it for transporting people we support to and from activities, with business insurance for the vehicle (Cartrefi Cymru pays 45p per mile)
