Overview
The role is a permanent paediatric surgical consultant at the Royal Alexandra Children’s Hospital, part of a team of seven consultants. The post focuses on elective and acute general paediatric surgery and the paediatric gastrointestinal elective service.
Responsibilities
* Provide day‑to‑day all‑round surgical care for paediatric patients.
* Participate in a 1 in 6 week attending and on‑call rota.
* Engage with outreach clinic and theatre programmes.
* Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including paediatric anaesthetists, paediatricians, neonatologists, radiologists, gastroenterologists and pathologists.
Qualifications
* Consultant experience as a substantive paediatric general surgeon.
* Experience or knowledge in paediatric gastrointestinal surgery preferred.
* Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
