Job Summary

We are seeking a talented and motivated EHS Advisor to join our dynamic team.


Key Responsibilities

* Safety is our main priority at Watson-Marlow. It's our Number 1 Value. The EHS Advisor will be an ambassador and custodian of our vital safety culture.
* With operational Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) responsibility across all Watson-Marlow Ltd. sites in Falmouth and Redruth, the role is hands-on, with much time spent on shop floors, in warehouses, and among the general office population.
* Provide EHS support and guidance across the business with a focus on continuous improvement, while driving company, group and statutory compliance.
* Provide EHS support, advice and coaching to department managers, team leaders and operatives.
* Utilise the EcoOnline EHS management system to monitor EHS events, take appropriate action to resolve events safely, and follow all EHS guidelines and regulations.
* Review incidents and identify corrective and preventative actions for future learning.
* Raise awareness of and promote corporate EHS culture and objectives in collaboration with all Watson-Marlow Ltd. departments.
* Maintain knowledge of current legislative, statutory and sector EHS requirements.
* Promote Behaviour Based Safety (BBS) and actively engage colleagues in its principles.
* Be data-driven, facilitate the collection, interpretation and reporting of EHS statistics for reporting purposes.
* Work closely with Group EHS to ensure Watson-Marlow and Spirax-Sarco Engineering policies are up to date and followed.
* Support the EHSF Manager by investigating incidents and leading investigation teams when requested.
* Support departmental management in developing and reviewing EHS documentation to ensure it is fit for purpose and up to date with current legislation.
* Develop and deliver EHS training and awareness courses in collaboration with HR or independently.
* Deliver Safety Handover Briefings, Toolbox Talks and Safety Moments.
* Support internal and external EHS audit activities, monitoring the closeout of non-conformances.
* Provide professional, accurate and current advice on Safe Systems of Work, Standard Operating Procedures and Risk Assessments as an EHS subject matter expert.
* Collaborate with Facilities teams on site safety matters and on-site infrastructure projects.
* Undertake active occupational monitoring such as noise, vibration and COSHH within the workplace.
* Work with the Environmental & Sustainability Adviser to support environmental objectives and targets.


Skills/Experience

* Some previous experience as an EHS Advisor, ideally within a manufacturing environment.
* A current EHS qualification or certification such as NEBOSH General Certificate. Chartered membership of IOSH or working towards, or equivalent qualification or experience.
* An understanding of ISO9001, ISO45001 and ISO14001 regulations.
* Excellent communication, relationship-building and influencing skills with the confidence to engage with people at all levels.
* Ability to provide current and reliable guidance to site-based teams, including senior and line management.
* Aware of Root Cause Analysis and Incident Investigation procedures.
* Confidence to challenge poor practice and unsafe actions in line with company values.
* Intermediate or advanced Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio and Publisher).
