Overview
We are seeking a part-time veterinary receptionist to join our small, friendly practice based in the picturesque village of Kelston on the outskirts of Bath.
Kelston Vets is a family run practice, providing high clinical quality, compassionate and personal veterinary care for pets in the surrounding Bath and Bristol area.
As a valued member of the reception team you will be positioned front of house and often the first point of contact for pets and their owners. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, a welcoming, sympathetic and professional manner.
Responsibilities
* Greet clients and their pets warmly upon arrival, ensuring a friendly and professional atmosphere.
* Schedule appointments and manage the clinic's calendar efficiently using Merlin Practice Management System. Full training and support provided.
* Handle client enquiries efficiently and courteously. Liaising with the veterinary staff to provide information, advice and the highest quality of care.
* Maintain accurate patient records and ensure all documentation is up to date.
* Process payments and manage billing enquiries with attention to detail.
* Assist with dispensing medications and prescriptions, under the guidance of the veterinary team.
* Provide clients with information on preventative care, nutrition, and other pet-related queries.
* Ensure the reception area is tidy and organised at all times.
Requirements
* Previous experience in a veterinary setting is highly desirable.
* Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients and team members.
* Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail in managing records and schedules.
* Possesses confidence in handling telephone responsibilities and proficiency with practice management systems and basic IT responsibilities.
* A genuine love for animals and commitment to providing exceptional customer service.
Hours:
* hrs) two days per week.
* 1:4 Saturday rota hrs)
* This equates to 9.75 hrs per week.
* Further shifts available to cover for staff holidays.
