Education/ qualifications
Essential criteria
1. •Recognised Speech and Language Therapy Degree Qualification or equivalent
2. •Health Care Professions Council – Licence to Practice
3. •Registered Member of Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists
4. •Evidence of successful completion of specialist short courses up to Master’s degree or equivalent
Desirable criteria
5. •RCSLT Level 3 competency in Videofluoroscopy
6. •RCSLT Level 2B in FEES competency
Knowledge and experience
Essential criteria
7. •Assessment treatment and management of highly complex clients with swallow, voice, speech, language and communication difficulties, demonstrating well-established knowledge of assessment tools relevant to the Head & Neck/ENT client group
8. •Working with clients with highly complex dysphagia, including critical care, pre and post surgical Head & Neck, radiation induced fibrosis
9. •Working with SVR, EEL, FEES, VFS, tracheostomy, AAC, trismus
10. •Experience of participating in recruitment & selection for less experienced staff, of undertaking appraisal and planning CPD for less experienced staff, of coaching / developing reflective clinical practice and case management skills in less experienced staff.
11. •Working knowledge of the roles of other professionals in Health, Social Care and voluntary sector involved with Head & Neck cancer client group.
12. •Working independently as a speech & language therapist specialising in the adult population with relevant advanced experience post qualification in highly specialist field and experience of advising/providing second opinions
Desirable criteria
13. •Experience of independently managing a laryngectomy caseload including those who have undergone surgical voice restoration
14. •Previous experience of a tracheostomy caseload
