Summary
* This is a 3-month contract with a local authority to support waste and recycling services. The role involves delivering and collecting bins safely and efficiently across designated areas. You will be responsible for driving a 7.5 tonne vehicle, handling bins, and ensuring a high standard of customer service.
Responsibilities
* Operate a 7.5 tonne vehicle to deliver and collect waste and recycling bins.
* Load, unload, and position bins safely at customer or council properties.
* Conduct daily vehicle checks to ensure roadworthiness and report defects promptly.
* Plan and follow delivery routes efficiently to meet schedules.
* Provide excellent customer service when interacting with residents and businesses.
* Ensure compliance with all driving regulations, including safe use of the vehicle.
* Handle manual lifting and movement of bins in line with health and safety guidelines.
* Complete delivery records and paperwork accurately, including the use of handheld devices where required.
Essential Experience
* Experience driving a 7.5 tonne (Category C1) vehicle.
* Experience in delivery driving, waste services, or a similar field (desirable).
* Experience working in a physically demanding role.
Essential Qualifications
* Valid UK driving licence with Category C1 (7.5 tonne entitlement).
* Valid Driver CPC (DQC card).
* Digital tachograph card.
* Good understanding of driving regulations and road safety.
Additional Information
* Working hours: 37 hours per week.
* Must hold a valid UK driving licence.
* No working from home available.
* We operate on a bi-weekly schedule.
