New England Seafood International (NESI) was established in 1991 and is an importer and processor of premium fresh and frozen sustainable fish and seafood. NESI employs circa 850 people across three sites in the UK and imports a wide range of wild and farmed fish and shellfish from all around the world. We are part of the Sealaska Corporation, an Alaska Native corporation formed in 1971 and owned by 26,000 Tlingit, Haida and Tsimshian shareholders, who are all bloodline descendants of the first settlers to the Americas. Job Title: Retail - General Operative
Location: NESI - Grimsby
Reporting To: Retail Production Supervisor/Retail Line Leader
Responsible For: Health and safety of yourself, colleagues, and anyone else on site. The efficient performance of the daily tasks involved with the retail production processes, to ensure products are produced and packed in line with H&S and food safety requirements.
Job Purpose: Ensuring that all tasks are completed as requested by line manager.
Responsibilities
* Safety – Ensure you work to all health and safety guidelines and procedures.
* Quality – Ensure all products supplied are produced to the Product Specification agreed with the customer by working to our QASs.
* Quality – Raise issues concerning raw materials, packaging and/or equipment to Supervisor or Line Manager in a timely manner. Responsible for brand integrity by raising any issues with the product or packaging to line manager or QAs when required.
* Cost – Ensure all tasks completed are done efficiently. Support business PIPs by engaging in the projects as requested.
* Delivery – Help to achieve 100% service by immediately escalating any issues with product/packaging quality to Supervisor or Key/Compliance Op line leader and compliance op.
* People – Be aware of working hours to comply with working time directives (e.g., +60 hours in 7 days, 11 hours rest period, 1 day off in 7 or 2 days off in 14).
* Health and safety and food safety compliance remains a continuous priority in all tasks.
